Client Solutions Developer (Prague)

This role is part of Aon Impact Forecasting team, a team of scientists, developers and client services colleagues together developing and supporting catastrophe models for various perils including flood, windstorm, earthquake, wildfire or terrorism.

We are looking for a person to join our Client Solutions team! We seek an enthusiastic person skilled in GIS and Python who will work on mapping products derived from Impact Forecasting’s catastrophe models for (re)insurance!

What the day will look like

• Preparation and maintenance of geospatial datasets based on catastrophe models
• Develop detailed understanding of catastrophe models and their internal structure – modifying the models for faster data extraction
• Transforming the model outputs to meet our data standards requirements and client specific needs
• Implementation of data into our underwriting applications and other third-party software
• Close cooperation with other Impact Forecasting teams

Skills and experience that will lead to success

• Knowledge of GIS concepts and software (QGIS)

• Strong data management and processing skills with knowledge of a scripting language to automate the tasks (Python)
• Basic knowledge of SQL databases (SQL Server)

• Good communication skills, both verbal and written English, other languages are also welcome (some Czech is an advantage as the core team is based in Prague)
• Technical and analytical mindset, willingness to learn new technologies
