The Dean of the Faculty of Science of the University of Ostrava announces a selection procedure to fill the following vacancy
Excellent Researcher in the field of human geography, local and regional development or sustainability transition – project „STENEO: The Social dimension of new Technologies in the ENErgy sector in the Ostrava metropolitan area“
The position of Co-investigator is to be filled within the framework of the project „STENEO: The Social dimension of new Technologies in the ENErgy sector in the Ostrava metropolitan area“, reg. no. CZ.02.01.01/00/23_021/0008591, Research Programme Social Sustainability of Housing Energy Transition by a foreign researcher in the field of human geography, local and regional development or sustainability transition studies.

Job Description
We expect that the selected Excellent Foreign Researcher on Co-investigator position will:
- Collaborate in the development of the research project conceptual framework and the specification of the methodology.
- Manage the scientific work in the assigned research area (studies on the effectiveness of energy efficiency investments and the impact of investments on the quality of life of rental housing tenants).
- Manage the sampling and primary data collection procedures, manage the acquisition and analysis of secondary data. Manage the evaluation of primary data.
- Contribute to publications in accordance with the requirements and standards of the University of Ostrava at this given position.
Estimated amount of work
- 1 vacancy at 1.0 FTE
Expected start date
- April 1st, 2025 (or by agreement)
- Fixed-term contract until March 31st 2028 (36 months). We expect to extend the contract for the duration of the project until 31.12.2028.
Wage conditions
- According to the Internal Wage Regulations of the University of Ostrava and for the Excellent Foreign Researcher in the STENEO project, i.e. 1.0 FTE = 103,750 CZK a month before tax (gross wage).

The first round of the selection procedure will involve the assessment of the materials submitted by the candidates. Only selected candidates will be invited to take part in a second round of remote interviews. The Employer reserves the right to cancel the selection procedure or to decide not to accept any of the applications without giving reasons.
