Raster Data Engineer (Remote in Europe)

• Retrieving and downloading of new open geospatial (raster) data from open public sources.
• Regular updating of existing datasets.
• Creating and maintaining tilesets.
• Processing of Earth Observation, Weather and Climate and Terrain datasets.
• Building and maintaining automated pipelines (using Python and Prefect mostly).

• Understanding geospatial data basics (and GIS in general). 
• Understanding the basics of coordinate reference systems. 
• Raster data characteristics.
• Basic process automation using Python or Node.js
• OGC OWS services (WMS, WMTS, WCS).
• Team player who can work autonomously.

• GDAL and Python libraries for geospatial data processing: Fiona, Rasterio, Shapely.
• Linux environment and remote access to servers (ssh).
• Cloud infrastructure experience.
• Prefect work orchestration, Kubernetes, OGC API. 
• Understanding principles of web mapping and tiling services.
